Judypie: FAWM dream collab: unlocked 😁
I sent my scrappy voice note of a song to ol’ sapes and he sent it back in double quick time fully realised and dialled up to 500! The absolute skills on the man. I LOVE it. Was having the kind of day where I hated everything I did, couldn’t even play a c chord without getting a buzzy string and nothing was working!! My fingerprints had quite literally been ripped off :p I felt depression coming but I couldn’t snap myself out of it! The upside? It gave me writing materiallllllssszz!
Thanks so much to sapient for taking the time to craft this! Still makes me lol that me losing my mind over my pencil falling off my desk repeatedly could be blown up so big 😁wish I had him on tap so he could make all my songs sound like this ❤️

We all know that feeling. It's not really the pencil, it's everything that went before, and yet still, it's the damn pencil...
Our Judypie has such a strong sense of melody. What she is trying to sell as a scrappy idea was actually the entire chord progression of the song, the first verse, the chorus and the overall mood. All I needed to do was add some bits and had the most enormous fun doing it 🤩

Woah, this is massive! That progression and melody is really engaging. Loving the crunchy guitar work. It's quite dark this isn't it? All because of a bloody pencil 😆 Just got to the guitar solo - good grief - skills! 😮 Great collab!

Loveee the chord changes in the chorus on the 4 and 2 beats (maybe, something like that? you know what I mean?). The pull me down to the underground is great, love the effects on the vocals. The whole thing is just EPIC.

wtf! i was reading a review on pitchfork about babes in toyland just before, and then i hear this! this song is sums up that whole energy - the music that gives the lost the map. i think i read once (or saw) kurt cobain say the first time he saw shonen knife, he shrieked like a little girl. this is that moment for me! heavy, sneery - with a wink sorta. awesome collab!!

Hey this is awesome! The vocals, the instrumentation - all really well done by both of you! Julie I don't care if you don't like Oasis but you're the female Liam Gallagher and I say that as a total 100% compliment. I totally dig your vocal style. It's too bad you make me vomit.

they say movies about writers are boring because nothing happens. the writer just sits at his desk and writes. Until now, nobody though to have the writer's pencil fall off the desk. And now that someone has, the life of the writer explodes into epic action with inner angst manifested though outlandish guitar solos and soaring voices, both male and female.

Killer collab. The vocals are insanely good! With the massive stuff exploding and the layered lines, that track has an earwormy quality that is almost indecent!

Oh lord what a collab!! The vocals are great, the song is great! I don’t think I’ve heard either of you do this style and it’s amazing. Both of you have really added your own strengths to this and the outcome is excellent! Goodness.

Fuck yeah! Awesome dynamics, love the sense of build. Great phrasing in the vocal line, I really felt the drama of that damn pencil. Killer vocal from Pete, it's lovely seeing that the yelling hasn't hobbled everything else coming from your throat. Wonderful crunchiness in that solo, some great descending runs.

Very very cool tune, y'all, these are the kinda collabs that make FAWM great!

Wooooooooof, what a BEAST! The frustration really comes across in both your voices here. I love the contrasting vocal styles, the pull me down bit even reminds me a bit of Chilis! Good god, that solo! YES!!

Ok, this tears me apart. I love it how the whole thing starts so epic and then settles down to just the acoustic guitar and the singing, only for things to soon explode again. This is fragile yet grandiose. Loving it.
