I'm back for either my 17th or 13th FAWM depending on how ya want to count. I took last year off from writing, and it did me good. Not sure what's in store for 2025. I have some new toys to try out and I've been leveling up my guitar chops, but I've also blown out my voice with a nasty January cold.

I'm open to collaborations, with the big caveat that I'm not sure where my musical direction is going right now. I'm feeling in flux and allowing that flux to set its own boundaries. If those boundaries don't align with any given collaboration, it's nothing personal.

History:
I've been doing this since 2009, and hit my 14 for 6 years running. I took 2015 off (minus one song), started 2016 with good intentions but was short circuited, spent 2017 on a solo project (except for one song), and took 2018 off (just one song). 2019 thru 2023 were back in the saddle with collab-heavy FAWMs. 2024, just one song and then took a break. So here we are.

And I'm in a band with @johncrossman and @nancyrost. We are more amazing than you can fathom. I was in a band with @tfish77 from like 1992-1995. We redefined rock as you know it, but then it went back. And I jam with @snort sometimes, since he lives down the street. We're not redefining anything.

Also - I just posted a song called Heat Death of the Universe - I wasn't sure where the idea came from, but I thought it might have been from a recent SMBC comic. And then I just now decided to check your page.. and saw your snippet from last week. So... maybe I subconsciously "borrowed" (read: stole) the idea from you. ;)

Thanks for your comment! Yes of course there is a huge difference between programmed and real instruments. VST guitars can work in some occasions but I just don't like them in "hand-made" genres. With piano for example, I prefer VSTs cause recording, cleaning abs processing an acoustic piano is extremely hard!

I hope you get on with the Push; I couldn't do without mine these days—although it's a Mk1 and it's got a few miles on the clock now. The case is cracked, and that "soft touch" coating has gone all sticky!
