Yeah baby, that’s me on the bass (bought myself a new P-bass last year, so this felt like it’s coming out party). Initially tried to play slap bass, but quickly remembered I can’t actually do that, so reverted to a pick. Felt like I got some good snap into it anyhow 😂 thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the feedback! Sometimes it takes a little external input to get me to realize what's bugging me about my fawn song, but is too subliminal or entrenched to realize on my own. Super helpful. Any Big Star or REM reference is high praise! 🙏

Logic is great! I totally enjoy what it has to offer. I wouldn't switch away from it for any reason. Ha!

Thanks again for listening to Harry Wasn’t Too Busy and glad you Liked it. Posted it and the volume of the filter sweeps was too loud on one of the synth tracks, so I re-edited it, lowered the volume, and added active panning which sounded a lot better to my ears.

Thank you! For listening to 'Jacaranda tree' and for your perceptive comments. Very glad you liked it. They are indeed beautiful trees ... they aren't common in the Netherlands but they light up villages in Portugal and Spain during the spring.

Yeah! Using the good ol' Logic drummer. I like some of the new interface changes where you can more easily do a manual program for like 4 on the floor type stuff but I feel like there's less control over dialing in presets than before. I've mostly been focusing in on making the drum tones sound bigger and badder. haha

Thanks James for the comment on "We who live beyond our time". A note on your startling perceptiveness. I joke that the main components of my musical inspiration are the four B's: Bach, Beethoven, Brahms,Beatles. (so your Macca is spot on). But what as a developing (failed) concert pianist were the most important after B2 were Chopin and to a much lesser extent Debussy. So a tick there too for your acuteness.

Hey James,
Glad you like the ambient piece. I used the Bloom app (made by Eno) run through a boom box. I recorded it on an iPad on GarageBand. Since there was room noise and some hiss, I recorded another room noise track. I played some bass notes (because you can’t tell which notes you are playing on the app. And I added a faint drum track with the cymbals blending well with the hiss of the boom box. Fun.
