@kristian: I have always been a musical nut... so when I got randomcollabed with beacon and he asked "Do a song like Anthem from Chess perhaps?" I was like... HELL YEAH! So I sent him a basic piano track and... to be honest, this was kinda close to not happening.. but it did happen... eat your heart out Webber! Oh.. and sorry for cutting it short, but I am actually out of time .. sorry for not making it longer Ken!

@beacon: When I was put together with Kristian and I heard some of his stuff, and other people were saying "You got put in a Random Collab with Kristian? You lucky dog!" Hearing this I am completely blown away.

When I heard Kristian's backup track, I was envisioning the lead of a show contemplating having to leave everything he ever knew and loved behind at the end of Act One, and so wrote the lyrics. Kristen made me sound like I had a full Broadway orchestra behind me. This was amazing, and I'd love to do another one of these when we have more time (sorry my illnesses got in the way!)

Lyrics

This night won’t be so lonely
Even as I stand her solely
Ever present, ever holy
In the mem’ry

This day will bring an ending
Of a longing, long descending
Heart and mind forever blending
In the reverie now

I stand apart
Before the abyss
Wondering where my next step will lead me

The past is past
Don’t know where I will fit
I’ve got to leave and say my goodbyes

This ending brings a new start
As I set my past to depart
And deposit here my own heart
For the last time now.

Eat your heart out Webber and practically ANY Disney tune (and I don't sleep on them, either. They can be pretty epic by my estimation). Short and to the point and very grand. It certainly caught my attention readily and just...wow. It's too bad FAWM is ending soon...

Gorgeous anthemic song. Bravo!

By the way, Chess was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA. It's got a great score!

Incredible work. I'm throwing my flowers at the computer screen, but nothing's happening

Bring it on

Wicked beans! Feels like you dropped me right in Les Mis!

Okay - you have a huge problem. Now you have to write the rest of the play, music and all, to give this wonderful piece of theatre a place to live.
Når er åpningskvelden?

Beautiful vocals and lush backing. A great collab. When does the show come to St. Louis? I need to buy my tix.

Oh my goodness, this is a match that was meant to be! What fantastic orchestration by Kristian, a perfect setting for Ken's Broadway-ready vocal. Bittersweet to be hearing a "goodbye" song, but in FAWM as in the theater, often those closing numbers are the best. Ever present, ever holy.

This is glorious. Great work, both of you!

Definitely feeling like I'm at a Broadway show now! I just have to wonder what happens in Act Two? This is really nicely put together, well done both!

Man you all knocked this out of the park. This is fantastic

It's amazing how many different styles pop up on FAWM. I like the songs from a good musical, Les Misérables, Grease etc. This would fit right in to some big production musical. * I had to go listen to Anthem from Chess. What DAW did you use?
