TC: KC made the suggestion, and I'm sure this isn't what he expected, but I enjoyed the lyric quite a bit so was glad to get the chance to musicify it.

Here is some AI generated graphics based on the lyric:

KC: Finished writing the lyrics and was already hoping for a @tcelliott collab! I had thoughts of acoustic... but on the first listen I loved the "crunch"! I think it's a homerun - the chorus... Grand Slam! TC is a killer composer and musician always great to work with him! Tx TC!

Lyrics

Flat tire and a busted jack
Steak and cheese and a heart attack
Layin’ here in the mud
Guess I'll pray to the Lord above

Wadin’ in the water, swimmin’ in her soul
Come for me Mary, honey take me home

Stabbed me once and no more pain
Might as well enjoy the rain
How’d it come to end like this
On a short cut they always miss

Wadin’ in the water, swimmin’ in her soul
Come for me Mary, honey take me home

Hope you send me someone I know
Someone I know to take me home
After 16 years Mary'd be great
She’ll take my hand, tell me I’m late

Wadin’ in the water, swimmin’ in her soul
Come for me Mary, honey take me home

Wadin’ in the water, swimmin’ in her soul
Come for me Mary, honey take me home

Mary’d smile at me and I’d be
Swimmin’ in her soul
Swimmin’ in her soul
Swimmin’ in her soul
Mary’d smile at me and I’d be
Swimmin’ in her soul

Oh very catchy track this one. I love the effect you have on your vocal as it sounds clean in a ever so slightly dirty way.. The delivery of all of this feel slick and tight. Very neatly wrapped up in its 2 minute delivery. It's so nice to listen to your music again.

I love these lyrics. Such a creative scene for someone's final moments. Love the hook line too. @tcelliott 's treatment is spot on perfection. That chorus is soo good. Awesome collab!

I thought these were terrific lyrics when I first read them, so was excited to hear them put to music. This is not at all what I'd anticipated, which matters not a bit, when the result is so excellent! So forceful and driven, much more rocking and chugging than I'd anticipated, and I'm enjoying every moment of it. Awesome drive and power!

that's a hell of a death scene, music and vocals fit the lyric like a glove.

Hey @tcelliott ! You knocked it out of the Park! Love it all - I don't know what it is about the chorus but what a lift! Sweeet! Tx so much for putting my lyrics to music, really bringing them to life!

Yeah - I kinda heard a bit of Primus happening with this piece. Nevertheless the rock power you brought to this, @tcelliott, is amazing! I read the lyrics a few times first (not sure how AI came up with that imagery though) and was definitely in the narrative; solid writing for sure. Then when the mixture happened...mind blown. Nice work, y'all. I'm still one prone to the cheese steak though...just sayin'.

Really enjoyed this. The verses and chorus have a nice musical contrast that works well with the lyrics. There's a bit of a Primus vibe with the vocal delivery, which works well with the whole "swmmin'" affectation. Nice work!

That guitar grabbed me right out of the gate. Fantastic groove, great chorus, terrific unifying themes (hard to miss with love and death, but keeping themes simple is really hard). Great work
