Broken Heart

by @jimdgreen

Liner Notes

In 2023 and I think either 2024 or 2022 I can only find the 2023 files. @zecoop kindly provided fawmers with some pre-recorded drums with the explicit instructions to not credit them as a co-write but tag with #zecoopdrums

I decided that as I've used them on at least one track a year since they've been available, I'd do the same again . . . .

Then @complexissimple put a post on the forum, about anyone
can sing, then dared me to try . . . . and so we have this 50% spoken word and 50% attempted singing.

Please excuse this attempt, it has encouraged me to try and do vocals on more stuff but for now, this is the best I can muster.

Lyrics

My broken heart, it fell apart, the day I met you.

My broke heart, oh it know, when I first saw you

This could only end one way, and thats, with a broken heart.
--
But the heart does it own thing

Follows it's own true path

No second guessing,just following instinct

The heart does its own thing

As others have said, the bass is great here, and the combined spoken word/singing works really well. Really nicely done.

Digging the spoken word and how it transitions into J. Mascis style vocals. This ones full of 90s goodness. That bass is putting in some work!

Such a killer bass and a super nice surprise to be playing in your band! You did an awesome job with the vocal. I love the mix of spoken and soft singing. It fits the song perfectly. Turns out complex was right! Geez, now I have to sing. I totally dug this song- it has an awesome vibe.

Borderline Tom Waits feel, with hints of Lou Reed in the melody.

I like the simmering intensity, and loose feel, super cool.

I like the driving bass, a great counterpart to zecoop's drums. Your voice sounds good! This grooves for sure.
