Liner Notes

I've not quite been myself this FAWM. But our country hasn't been itself either and it's weighing heavily on me. I'm trying to find ways to manage and just relaxing, playing guitar has worked a few times. This one came out very quickly right before dinner tonight, at least the main verse kind of thing. I came back down after dinner to figure out the exact chord sequence I wanted and when I got to the middle section I just made up something and continued on to the end. I like the complexity of the chord voicings, but also love the calming nature of this piece. Life is complex, but we need to remain our own guide.

My lesson to myself tonight is to just keep breathing.

#acoustic #acousticguitar #6string #12string #guywithguitar #relax #breathe

I played:
Breedlove Atlas Stage 6 string
Tacoma DM912 12 string
I might add some more things later. :)

This came to me via the Random Song button. Perfect track at the perfect time. I will go and listen to Liz's expanded version but this does sit really well on its own too 😎

I love the harmonies you're weaving here. It definitely sounds like breathing, with tension rising and being released. The 12 string sound is so gorgeous, perfect for the contemplative mood this piece has.
This was such a relaxing listen, thank you for sharing.

Are you looking for lyrics to these instrumentals?

We are a product of what we listen to … I hear some Peter Frampton in here.

It fells like one guitar is the percussion section or a vocal chorus of some sort.

Nice job sir!

So much emotion and complex thoughts in these chords! Something that cannot be expressed in words can be expressed in such a piece of music. It's a miracle

Always good advice!! I mean what the hell else can we do when times are SO DIRE. I am glad to hear you are able to find some respite/solace in music. Can’t imagine not having it as an outlet! What did I do before I made music?? Anyway, this is a beautiful job ❤️

Love the jangly (yes, that’s a technical term Ha!) tone the this acoustic! Such a nice tone! Many blessings and yes….just breathe!

Hey John! Love the mellow vibe again with this one and some really pleasing chord changes, takes you on a nice journey. Look forward to hearing what @fearlessflight2014 does with the vocals too.

Can I try putting a vocal on it?

This is such a beautiful meandering piece, unexpected twists and turns and surprising sunlight vistas. All with a guitar. Just gorgeous!

Very pretty and beautiful. I'm glad you were able to write and have some time to relax. I think it is important to recognize that all that is going on is causing many us to experiences feelings of grief and loss and it is also important to honor those feelings. At least that is what I think. It could be different for others. :)

Amen. One thing I’ve found really helps me cope is just seeing people out and about and just enjoying life. Places like fawm existing are also a great part of what keeps me sane. Also I enjoyed the song :)

Oh I hear you! Been in about the same headspace. This song is so pleasant and the effort to get to a good place comes through. It’s like the intentional, willful belief to move forward—all the while acknowledging the struggle Beautiful song and I’m glad you improvised the middle part. I had to go back and listen for it, as it wasn’t apparent the first listen. Very well done!

It is frosty frosty cold here this morning, and as I listened the snow was fluttering around, trying to reach the ground, and as the sun caught the edges, they looked like diamond dust. So did your fingers on the strings.

It feels like the whole planet isn't itself right now. But it's remarkable how much comfort a wall of ringing guitars can bring. What a sound!

Nice relaxing acoustic guitar, has a kind of meditative quality, and it’s very understandable that it’s a very different FAWM for many people, but it’s good advice

Great and soothing. I like the different strumming instances. Reminds me of something from Stone Temple Pilots.

you know that is good advice and all you can do sometimes glad the guitar gives some solace and it's sure pleasant for us!

A good reminder to me, and many of us, I imagine. This is resonant and soothing.
