FAWM 2025 / Song 5

This 10-second ditty was custom-composed on the fly for my son this morning. I got to sing it 5 times (just sang it once per minute and changed the number each time, which had the added effect of becoming more and more annoying, so he wanted to leave) before he finally went to school.

I can see incorporating a key change, too — every few verses it goes up a half step. Feel free to use! 😉

At first I thought, oh, sweet that your son still lets you sing to him...Then I kept reading...Revenge parent songwriting. My most inspired mothering thing was called "Morning Music" My desktop computer would come to life ten minutes before time to go to school and play first a song my son had chosen, then a song my daughter had chosen, then the dreaded "There's a hole in the bucket." And my son especially would drag us out the door so he didn't have to listen to the last two songs...When he was smaller, we had an agreement that if we left early we could pet dogs or throw balls on the way to school...Great to hear your voice.

Well, GOOGLE scared me to death but I "went there" and listened to it, and it made me wistful for my own mother coming in to wake me up with singing. Awwww...now I'll be thinking of that all day, so--thanks for the memory! 😉❤️
