“Try A Little More” - #fawm 50/90 2024 song 50

I got off count somewhere but I think I fixed it, and with this song, I have completed 50 songs in 90 days (it’s day 63) and I’m really happy to have arrived at this milestone for the second summer in a row.

I haven’t quite hit my goal, though, of completing all my lyric drafts from last year — and now I have four new lyric drafts from this year I’m hoping to get to before October 2nd, as well.

I wrote this one thinking of someone who wouldn’t want to be named — when I get on their bad side I sometimes have a difficult time understanding why the stakes seem so high, but I can imagine them just wishing I’d try a little harder to communicate the way that works for them. So I wrote these lyrics from that person to me.

The melody/vocals and the outro need a little tweak to settle, but here’s a demo.
