Liner Notes

Another collaboration featuring McTown's excellent lyrics - this one was a while in the making, so I'm excited that it's complete and I can finally share it! I recently discovered the sound of this french oboe synth, so I was particularly happy to find an excuse to use it again. :)

Lyrics

Now I Can See David L Graham

I am a sinner
Let me confess, been tempted and tried
I've been a loser
and a winner, I've cheated and lied

but you went to that cross
and you shed your blood for me
Yes, you gave up your life
to pay the price for my deeds
I was blind, but now I can see
Now I Can See
What you did for me…

I was so foolish
I was so lost, now anchored in love
I need you Jesus
Tried it alone, but I was not enough

but you went to that cross
and you shed your blood for me
Yes, you gave up your life
to pay the price for my deeds
I was blind, but now I can see
Now I Can See

bridge
I pray to be more like you each and every day
I know those red letter words light up the way
it's hard to believe.. but I believe... I believe you did it for me..

Yes, you went to that cross
and you shed your blood for me
Yes, you gave up your life
to pay the price for my deeds
I was blind, but now I can see
Now I Can See
Now I Can See

The French oboe synth is really special and you used it well in this beautiful track. Lovely vocals, great melody and sounds like just the right treatment for these well written lyrics.

I really love how that piano comes in — more bouncy than I would have expected. There’s a lift to this that is compelling, and the vocals are sweet.

Wow! Glad I came across this--lovely lyrics by the prolific @mctown, I'm loving the vocal and really getting a kick out of that "oboe", too. Very, very nice collaboration! ❤️

I love how close the voices sound in this - it is beyond intimate - it's like it's in my head. This is a really direct and pleasing lyric, The harmonies are really tight and enjoyable. The oboe bit is cool too!

oboe synth is cool

an exceptional entry into the christian rock canon. the music never leans on gospel cliches, but hold its own in the classical hymnbook.
