Hello! Annoyingly, while the last couple of months have been very productive (I've got about thirty songs in various states of completion), I haven't actually finished any of them. I'm hoping that FAWM will get my head back on.

@sbs
Thank you so much for you comment on "Going the Distance" - it's one of my favorites! I also appreciate knowing what it reminds you of. I don't watch "Twin Peaks" so I had to take a listen to the end credits song on YouTube. Yeah, I can hear it.

@brisk, your compliments on Our Own Private Love Song, just delighted me! I loved what @blainev83 did with these lyrics, and the song just keeps playing in my head. I loved your description of "this early 90s radio friend US alt-rock-pop-whatever-it-is." Couldn't have said it better! :) And yeah, that Chorus is a real earworm...Go, Blaine! His voice, his melody, his production..Love it all, and I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. Thanks.

Oh yes 100%. On both counts. Wanking lyrics and the fact that listening can wait - that's what the first week of March is for anyway. We are both on 13, I see. Look forward to hearing whatever pushes you over the line 🏆

Thanks for commenting on my song "Home 3" :)

You’ll be pleased to know though, that two of your hashtags are unique to you. I’ll not say which two though. Some things must remain a mystery…

Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment on my song “out of my lane”!

Gosh, even your comments are creative! Thanks for listening to Love Isn't Any Fun, my collab with @gwynjones. He is so easy to work with. I send him a page full of words and he comes back with perfection. 😀 I enjoyed your page, too, so this works both ways.

@n24
Well, definitely don't get too fixated on it, honestly I have to think very hard to give you creative feedback because I really love your tracks. Sometimes I pick out things that I think are quite small but it's the only thing I can think to say! And I don't want you to think I'm being disingenuous when I'm only giving positive feedback.

Thank you for your thoughtful comments on Everything's For Sale. I recall some time back someone else mentioning Magnetic Fields, so there is clearly some connected vibe in my sound (and that helps when trying to market for sure).
Yes, the resignation. This is probably my default way to sing anyway, but it certaining works for this subject :(

@n24
Yeah you're right that does sound on point with the chords, it's possible what I'm hearing is on the second chorus and it's clashing with the guitar solo but it may also just be that it's an unique melody/chord structure and it's subverting my expectations :)

Thank you! They're Paul Simon chords. I am shameless. Just single chords here and there, not like a whole progression or anything. But still pretty shameless.

I like Tweedy’s book but I was guessing you may have been referring to David Byrne's How Music Works, just based on your description. Is that possible?

Your guitar work is stellar. Idiot Stick is a winner for lots of reasons. What a production too…Impressive. By any chance, do you plan one of those intricate classical sounding guitar pieces this FAWM? I’m drooling for some of that…

And the book?

Hey Brisk - good to see you hear for another whizz through February! Looking forward to what you deliver...
