Liner Notes

Another Song Fight title. Definitely less inspirational than the last one. Or maybe more inspirational if you tend to respond to breakups by building robots.

Lyrics

Electronic, embryonic, that is my creation
Supersonic, so harmonic, my reanimation
You stole my breath, you stole my heart, so I thought that I'd make another

Indestructible, invincible, that's my design now
Scientific, so idyllic, ready for the showdown
You left me here with all my tears, I had to find a better lover

So I, oh I

I'm gonna show you you were never meant to be the one
'Cause I can't rely on anyone who's made of flesh and blood
I know what it looks like but I swear I'm not playing pretend
Forget you, now it's me and my perfect robot friend

Give me electricity and some imagination
Circuit boards and thunderstorms give life to what I'm cravin'
And I don't care if you think that my work is an abomination

'Cause I, oh I

I'm gonna show you you were never meant to be the one
'Cause I can't rely on anyone who's made of flesh and blood
I know what it looks like but I swear I'm not playing pretend
Forget you, now it's me and my perfect robot friend

I'm kissing you goodbye
And looking up to the sky
Can't wait to come alive
Come alive

I'm gonna show you you were never meant to be the one
'Cause I can't rely on anyone who's made of flesh and blood
I know what it looks like but I swear I'm not playing pretend
Forget you, now it's me and my perfect robot friend

Great thumping bass drum and catchy chorus - super dance-y beat.

The thump on that kick is sublime! I love the melody of the chorus. It's super catchy. I don't currently respond to breakups by building robots, but now I know it's a potential avenue!

Terrific music groove, terrific vocal momentum, "robotic" but full of life and joy. Definitely makes me want to get up and dance!

Real fine. Robot references always remind me of Wall-E. This is different, but gotta say you sound kinda robotish, not a bad thing.

I like the rhythm, the chorus, and especially the idea. I think robot love songs should be a genre of their own. The bass tone, with its metallic touch, is perfect.

The bass, the glitchy synths, the vocals, the tongue in cheek lyrics. You nailed this.

Nice! And one of those dilemmas that is definitely going to be A Thing in future decades 😂. At first I thought maybe go even harder on the vocal tuning, but then I guess the narrator is not the robot itself so you’re actually spot on. Brilliant EDM beat and love that single note melody in the verse.

All the elements here, the EDM backup, the mostly monotonic melody, and the stiffness of the meter, combine to create a world where robots make better lovers than people. one of the things i like is that you do not limit yourself to these elements, but often break out of the tight structures with some soaring melodic passages.

Entertaining throughout, and I love that chorus in particular. The robotic delivery is just perfect. I'm always here for the robot songs :).

Dynamite! You've managed to have a robotic sound for your character without sacrificing musicality or production. Super job, Robyn! Now you can go head to head with Eugene with robot songs.

This one had me moving my head along, the bass line right of the gate is so good. The lyrics fit the beat so perfectly and I love the concept of a robot lover, and the lyrics really paint the picture of that throughout. I really like the line about the circuit boards and thunderstorms, really gave me Frankenstein vibes, and then echoed with the word abomination.

sort of reminded me a bit of grandaddy goes pop. great change into that oh so catchy chorus. . very nice

Nice rhythm, you certainly nail the robot effect on the vocals though there is still a beautiful pop melody about this. The lyrics are very cleverly crafted.
