Hello, 50/90ers!
I come to you with a treat: THREE whole songs that, for once, aren't voice memos! My friend @mishykatz came over yesterday to write & record an EP in a day, and we have three solid bangers.
This is the first song we wrote together. The concept was "What if the house burning down was a good thing?"
The production is very sparse as we were under a time limit to get all these done in one day, but it's nice and clean for ya!
Lyrics
We all get our chances, you got yours
You didn’t bother reading the brochures
Now you’re staring at the ground, insisting that you’re misinformed
Take the tour that you ignored, but you were warned about the coming storm
Oooh, it’s so obvious
The house is burning down
As I’m leaving this ol’ town
I’m not trying to catch up, just looking for common ground
But the house is burning, burning, burning down
I’m not trying to sell a thing except my soul
I don’t need a deeper meaning, just control
Now I’m staring at the sky as the sunset turns it gold
I boldly stole another moment, gonna hold it till my blood runs cold
This is one vow I have no trouble keeping
The house is burning ^down
As I’m leaving this ol’ town
I’m not trying to catch up, just looking for common ground
But the house is burning, burning, burning down
Looking down from the top, it feels like being free
Angels and demons might see it differently
Looking down from the top, it’s not wishful thinking!)
I don’t just hear a drum, I hear a symphony
The house is burning ^down
As I’m leaving this ol’ town
I’m not trying to catch up, just looking for common ground
But the house is burning, burning, burning, burning
The house is burning ^down
As I’m leaving this ol’ town
I’m not trying to catch up, just looking for common ground
But the house is burning, burning, burning down
