Ooh! I listened to this while I was driving yesterday and forgot to comment! This is a beautiful piece...like sonic art. I especially love the blue notes at the end that convey the continuing state of longing. I'm so glad you came to my skirmish! 😀

There's someone else I've been listening to here--can't recall who--who frequently has birds in the background for her songs. (Actually, I think it's because she records herself outdoors with a guitar). Anyway...a few bird chirps in the background would (perhaps) make this piece even more lovely. Or not. ❤️

As others have said, the technique you’re using to play those harp-like chords is exquisite. Really beautiful. And then you add the nimble, playful top line melody and the whole thing just sings. Such great playing, can’t praise you enough for it!!

I hear echoes of Debussy in some of the chords. And I definitely hear longing. Beautiful piece!

Lovely title and performance. I like the glissando chords underneath your birdsong-like melody.

The harp-like chords remind of a bird's sudden, hopping movements. The high melody notes sound like chirping. The open harmonies in the first half breathe an almost Asian air, as if we were listening to a Japanese poem. The end adds some blue notes, leading to the conclusion that this longing, for now, will remain unfulfilled.

Love the harp-like arpeggios, Nadia. Lovely melody, as always.

I love the way some phrases stretch the rhythm for meaning and emphasis. Fresh, airy feeling.

Really lovely piano music. Reminds me of some of the French impressionist/romantics of 100 years ago or so. Really delightful and enchanting.
