Love Rockabilly and this main line popped into my head. Saw the classic boy meets girl and a car thing! I know there's a POV change but seems to work for me - LoL.

Feel free to take a swing at the music, just give me a heads up.

I'll be putting songs up that are pretty rough. Happy to collab on lyrics as well!

#1 of 50? I hopes so! Never hit the "golden" mark... yet!

Lyrics

June Bug Baby – I’m hearing a rockabilly kind of thing.

V I
Well my June bug baby She’s rockin’ on down the road
Floatin’ on air don’t carry a heavy load

Dropped her top untied her hair
Her whole wide world there ain’t no care

C
My June bug baby… she’s rockin’ on down the road

V II
Saw her sittin’ on the hood of her car
Man she looked like a movie star
Winked at me “I’ll be your Monroe
“Be my dean and we’ll go go go”

C
My June bug baby… she’s rockin’ on down the road

Break/lead

V III
My June bug baby is a real live wire
Screamin’ down Lovers’ Lane
Lighting strikes sets my heart on fire
Gas to the floor she drives me insane

I will be your Monroe
Be my Dean and we’ll go go go (could be a BG vox thing?)

Outro
June bug baby… Feel so alive
Shifts my drifts into overdrive
June bug baby,
yeah my June bug baby
June bug baby let’s go, go, go!

Hey Kevin, love these lyrics! I think I have a tune 😁

I can hear this play as I read it. It's super fun and hot! I always love an alliterative hook, and this one is super cute.

FUN, FUN! You’ve packed the rhythm into the lyrics, which is always a good thing!

Very catchy and singable lyrics. Looking forward to hearing them.

yeah just waiting to rockabilly off the page! real catchy straight forward lines!

Catchy, catchy, catchy! Love that title "June Bug Baby" and how you use it in the lyric piecing together this ride. I hear this one with Bob Seger-esq vocals and play. Cool write with most definitely a rockabilly sound--even with just your words and story here it's clearly heard.

Perfect lyric for a rockabilly song - bounces along with great rhymes and the Marilyn / Dean dynamic is fun. Nice job

Wow, tx for all the feedback… I definitely before an @billwhite51 and an @gwynjones collab!

@billwhite51 is right. Gwyn could do a bang-up job on this one. What do you think @gwynjones?

perfect lyrics and feel for a mid-1950s rockabilly song. i could pull off the vocal end of it, but the song deserves a full band accompaniment. if you want a top shelf version, i suggest you hit up the master, @gwynjones or his sometimes sidekick @jibbidy34.

ok, i can totally hear this in my head, your lyrics are perfect!
