Liner Notes

Really didn't have time for this, they were setting up Christmas lights in the living room and didn't leave until 10 mins after the skirmish finished, so it's a bit rushed... but I still enjoyed it!

Lyrics

Sharp objects in a quiet room,
Cut through silence, spoil your perfume
Edges glint with fleeting grace
Leave behind no soft embrace

They carve through thoughts, twisting, tearing
A moment’s touch, a fleeting flare.
In their wake, the stillness sighs
Sharp objects hold the truest lies

Sharp objects, remembered in the night,
Dancing like shadows, cold and light.
In their grasp, the heart might bleed,
Yet they’re the cure, the spark, the seed.

They draw a line where none should go,
Yet teach us things we’ll never know.
A paradox, a painful truth,
A memory from a misspent youth.

great songwriting. greatly written lyrics. i like the sound on this track, your voice and the guitar sound great, and the way you sing, it has a lot of realness. enjoyed listening.

Excellent take on the prompt. To me the lyric had some ambiguousness which I really like. Was trying to decide if it was about physical objects, or were the objects metaphors for human relationships.

I like this so much! Great hook. The melody is so catchy and the lyrics are really clever. I'm glad you got this skirmish in so you could write this! I enjoyed my listen very much.

Brilliantly poetic. I like the insistent guitar driving the lyrics along.

This is clever and I really like the sharpness in your voice at times!

Interesting mix of metaphors (silence, perfume) - I like how you approached this skirmish by considering the disruptive effects of something that's clearly out of its correct place. Like that drum key I just fished out of the couch cushions. Misspent youth, indeed!
