Lyrics

Lyrics:
She flies at night when no one can see her shine.
Yeah, it hurt, moving on, it’s only fertilizer in her dirt.
Every tear, every storm made the flowers bloom first.

She’s soft and quiet, but her soul cries out.

Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She’s not tall or strong, has nothing figured out, &--
Hey! Will you listen to her now?
Not the loudest voice, but she’s got something to tell, &--
Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She got up, she tried, she cared.
Ooh, she cared. Too much, too much.

She soars unseen through her own daydreams.
Yeah, it hurt, moving on, it’s only fertilizer in her dirt.
Every tear, every storm made the flowers bloom first.

She’s soft and quiet, but her soul cries out.

Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She won’t raise her voice, but her heart speaks out.
Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She’s been knocked down twice still standing her ground.
Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She got up, she tried, she cared.
Oh, she tried. Too hard, too hard.

A phantom breeze, she dances past her favorite trees.
Yeah, it hurt, moving on, it’s only fertilizer in her dirt.
Every tear, every storm made the flowers bloom first.

She’s soft and quiet, but her soul cries out.

Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She’s a silent power that’s rising somehow.
Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She’s the voice unheard--let her show you how.
Hey! Will you listen to her now?
She got up, she tried, she cared.

I listened to @katestantonsings demo some days ago, happy to hear the update with @lemonbrew. Big production. I like how the arrangement was cleaned up and these new synths. How do you create such a vast and comfy space?

beautiful, all round! the song is so whole, the melody is so smooth and catchy. I love the arrangement, especially the rhythm over the verses that fades in and out and has just a little "too much" insistence that really works. Sounds like a classic from my teenage years, like not one of the typical 80s sounding hits but one of those timeless ballads that i am still singing 40 years later. Solid collab, sounds brilliant

Ugh, this is so beautiful I don't even know where to start. The lyrics are fantastic throughout, "Yeah, it hurt, moving on, it’s only fertilizer in her dirt." really stands out to me and brilliant. Your playing and vocals sound effortless, I know it takes a lot of work to get to that point which makes them even more impressive. Fantastic job to both of you!

What a beautiful arrangement, the piano and cello play together so well. Beautiful vocals too, Gives me a Tori Amos vibe. Great control of your voice and phrasing. Yes, I think we're all ready to listen to her now. Thank you!

I was t sure what to expect from the title alone. What I was expecting was this Dion-Ronstadt-esque masterpiece. This sounds radio-ready in all the best ways. Like @greenglacier - chills!

I love the lyric too. The title line turns this character sketch into poetry.
