Presenting an off-the-cuff 3-song arc about cupcakes, partially based on a true story as conveyed by the inimitable @catmisgivings. If the feast tag were still an option, this was definitely a cupcake feast.
Part III: The resolution.
Lyrics
If a cupcake was a metaphor
I’ll tell you who I’d get it for
And give it away on this Valentine’s Day
The real cupcakes
Are the friends we made along the way
If a cupcake was a simile
Like a smile you would give to me
We could sing and play the whole night and day
The real cupcakes are the friends we made along the way
The people we meet
Can be pleasantly sweet
Enticingly colored, a cream-filled treat
But that metaphor’s breaking down a little
That’s ok, we made it past the middle
If a cupcake was poetry
I’d ask you to go with me
Just one time more to the big cupcake store
So we could go up to the counter person and say
The real cupcakes are the friends we made along the way
