People are saying it is a cello. It reminds me of one of those plastic air powered organs from Italy - Bontempi. But, cello sounds right.

I take it this is a cello. Well it sounds monstrous. So perfect for the subject matter and title. There's a lovely depth to this recording that fits, too.
