Liner Notes

Here's two of me. Ignore the words if you're playing along on anything you can't capo. Proper FAWM people are all "silence your critical voice". None of that nonsense here, we give him the third verse.

Lyrics

What makes this song so great is the first line
It draws you in and holds you every time
The second time around is the same as the first
Just like the Ramones, now here comes the dirt
You're expecting D, but that was B minor
Like an iceberg hitting an ocean liner
Now we hold on to the E,
Then back to the very first rhyme

Verse Two makes the point in another way
Depending on how much you have to say
Repeat, repeat - you're taking a chance
Bore them rigid or make them dance
Hmm, the novelty factor's gone
Of a major 7th in a rock'n'roll song
Now it's solo time
So spread your legs and play

(solo)

Call that a solo? I don't think you do
I don't really think you've got a clue
You don't screw up your face and show your pain
Oh, here comes that B minor bit again
You don't have a band
Do you have any friends?
I can't wait for this to end
I bet you do too

You sure you didn’t nick this song off Chas and Dave? 😁
Spread your legs and play? Ooo er matron!

Very clever and catchy! Had a fun listen with this one!

this is super fun self aware silliness. we need to take ourselves less seriously, for sure.

I think this is my new favourite song! So meta! "Call that a solo? I don't think you do!" This made my day -- the right kind of poppy rock 'n' roll and deliciously flippant lyrics. And glad that the inner critic got his 2 cents in, but no more!

I LOVE THIS! It's got all the inner behind the scenes and outer rock it out-ness, and makes me want to dance (I don't know about 'em others, but I bet it makes 'em want to dance too), because it rocks, and it rolls, in good rocknroll fashion but not quite too obviously... yeh, and I love the B minor.

Fun song and nice idea for the lyrics to explain the song structure/chords/concept. That riff reminds me of something, bit like a cross between the Stones and Chaz & Dave? Good stuff 👍

Damn you really got me with the b minor! Really great poppy hooks and harmonies. Love the line “spread your legs and play” hahahaha!
