Dystopian Driving Machinery

Liner Notes
This is my first track for FAWM 2025 and I'm (as always) not happy with it, it has a list of things I'd like to change, but if I start that I'll get no tracks done this FAWM
I always try to image a scene for my instrumentals, usually after writing them. This one I think is the sound track to a clip of dystopian film, where there's big machine running, un dark and steamy conditions. . . . maybe in a Robocop film
EDIT - the b sections too long, gah too late now it's posted

That is a meeaan guitar tone!! Love the ambient swell in the background. This feels like Clint Eastwood appearing from the fog, snarling. Very cool.

I totally hear this fitting in perfectly. Starts so gentle but builds so much tension with the staccato part. The emotional build continues in various ways throughout. I love the mood. It has a cool intensity. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the whole thing. That drone… 🖤

Great atmosphere.

A sound track for a dystopian film sounds about right. It's a big wall of sound and the rhythmic guitar plucking sets a real distinctive tone.

Nice build of tension in the opening minute. I half expected a loud, drum-filled catharsis. That said, the barren and spacious open plains this tune introduces have something lurking just over the horizon. That much, I'm sure.

Grindy bendy guitars - wide open 'verb creating the space.
It certainly has an ominousness (huh, I thought spell check was going to ding me on that one...apparently it's a real word) to this piece.

Hi Jim,
You can create a great atmosphere with just a pad and a guitar (it's probably much more layered, but that's what I'm able to hear). It sounds epic and amazingly relaxing at the same time. I wouldn't mind if this track went on for another 20 minutes. I wouldn't get bored because there's just enough variety in it.

oh man this is cool. i love the haunting bends and the guitar tone. it definitely invokes a feeling that something is about to happen but it is not quite clear whether it will be a good thing or a bad thing… well done!

Oh yeah, very cinematic! You’ve created an awesome sense of space which conjures up a dystopian backdrop in my mind.

Definitely feels dystopian! Lovely guitar work and that synth (?) brings a whole truck of tension. Lovely stuff!
