Lyrics
Do you ever think
How one day we’ll all be gone
Maybe an asteroid tears through us like scissors through chiffon
Or maybe we’ll ride up to the pearly gates
With wrinkles on our faces
No ragrats tattoos on our backs
hunched at perfect angles
Do you ever think?
What’s on your mind?
A sense of future dread
Stock market cashed out by the rich
Or civil war bloodshed
Maybe things will cool down if we take the ice out of the cup
It’s displacing all the water and it’s already cool enough
Do you ever think
that today might be the last
Good or bad either way
But not much we can forecast
So we might as well embrace
the twisting of our fates
Floating like feathers
Blowing all around the place
Do you ever think?

the twisting of our fates
Floating like feathers
Blowing all around the place
So profound yet matter of fact.
On a sort of related note…I remarked just last night how the snow falling looked like someone ripped open a feather pillow and shook it out into the swirling windy sky.
