Liner Notes

The Three Shards:
Prologue:
One brother trapped in the void separated from his physical form, a killer on the loose, the vampire clans in turmoil, a war on the horizon, and new secrets to reveal. Follow along as The Policemen's Lodge continue their investigation into the death of Aric Sylvestre, and attempt to bring the killer to justice. As our story opens we turn our attention to parliament where the bonds of the clans are beginning to fracture.....

Slight backstory. The Policemen's Lodge is a group of officers picked to keep the problems of the super natural residents of the world from boiling over into the everyday lives of normal folks. Things are handled quietly and switfly, though it does not always work out this way.....

Your backstory is a spot on match for the music. Or vice versa? Would be at home on Unsolved Mysteries, X-files or Lost.

Very ominous! I love the backstory you’ve written. I like how this builds from the keys into the strings without ever fully breaking down, it builds a lot of tension.

This is really great, so cinematic and evocative. The strings writing is gorgeous. Well done!

so stoked to be back here and following a new story and tracks from u guys! incredible prologue, gives off a hint of melancholy that things haven't been great for some characters and past turmoil, and the start of a story in an open world with formidable obstacles

Excellent tension buildup!

This captures the cinematic opening! My mind is seeing one of those unbroken traveling steadicam shots with the voiceover introduction as we enter the halls of parliament and travel into the chambers themselves to see....

Great dramatic opening, the keys and hits accent the feels quite well!

Maaaaaates, you have created a whole world here and I AM SO INTAE IT! Just checked out your bandcamp and I see this is not the first time either, you have a new fan! 🎉

You have *nailed* the "cinematic cold open" vibe with this. I can imagine the august tones of A Famous Actor speaking over this with the immortal words, "Previously, on 'The Policeman's Lodge'..."

Ascend and Ashlight doing the heavy lifting here by the sounds of things. What a gorgeous layered wall of lush sounds this is. I'm going to enjoy listening to this tale!

Love it! 🤘🏻❤️

Solid build and indeed feels like a void. Great start to the story!

Thrilling, intense, and hypnotic - I was swept up in the orchestral wonder. Good thing I was wearing headphones!

A great opener to an intense and thrilling story! You do a great job at getting inside the characters minds and setting the stage for what comes next. The tick sounds are like fleeting thoughts.

The slow build, the story, it all fits. Nice powerful percussion hits punctuate the sound every now and then to emphasise the drama. Like this a lot, will watch out for more....

The very idea of music for imaginary films makes my chest thrum with emotions, I love this. I feel so much loss and desire in this, each change in timbre a new grief. A lasting image in my head of a lone figure standing on a hillside looking west.

I like the slow burn of this. I just want to turn this up to feel it all the more. It works beautifully as an intro. I love how the title works as a story piece or a setting in and of itself. I love the almost sinister intro that turns into a dreamlike scene that hints to a supernatural theme before returning to the taunt of a 'something's wrong' feeling.

Also, the kid is sleeping so I can't turn it up as much as I want.

Yes! Another cinematic journey. I'll be following them all!

I feel like I am watching the start of a movie and there's some sort of back story on the screen letting me know how the protagonist finds himself in a sticky situation.

Great etherial feeling to this. I guess we're doing a long ride through somewhere to see if the The Policemen's Lodge people see anything interesting or suspicious? Very impressive.
