Warning: Don't complain to yourself that you never write about any deep subjects. Turns out you might start writing songs that are just a hair too deep.

Lyrics

The shadows in my memories have faded
Eroding slowly, steady over time
My pessimistic bent is more than jaded
For the day I can't bring you to mind

It's not that I can't picture you this morning
But fuzzy memories are not as fine
I fear the day that they will not come pouring
I fear the day I can't bring you to mind

My mother couldn't remember where she was going
Forgetfulness contagious in her decline
I fear, like her, I'll go through life not knowing
The day I can't bring you to my mind

Maybe I'm just worried here for nothing
Maybe there's a miracle and I'll be fine
And maybe I'm a fool for never trusting
Afraid of the day I can't bring you to mind
Afraid of the day I can't bring you to mind

Some fine guitar playing - and a subject that pops to mind every time I lose a noun (they tell me it's ok to lose a noun or two.. )
It flows wonderfully, and never misses a step through the solo.

Very nice. Love the blues feel and the solo is on point. Difficult topic to approach but feel like it's not treated too heavy or too light. "My pessimistic bent is more than jaded" is a great line. Also the vignette about recalling your mother's own struggles, which is meta in itself, and maybe even offers a glimmer of hope.

Lovin' the lazy, laidback feel to the bluesy fingerpicking - especially on the solo!

Love the intro! Do you have a chorus planned?

This hits home on so many levels.

Wow.... this hits hard. The bluesy guitar really sells the lyric. Is that a diminished chord I hear in there?

nice work! really says alot, and I can definitely relate! love what you're doing instead of that standard V chord, nice bluesy/jazzy substitutions (a quick II-V thing perhaps?) and great playing overall - makes me want to practice my bluesy stuff, you do this really well.

Wonderful chord progression. Really touching lyrics. Great guitar and lead work. Reminds me of J.J. Cale...

Poignant and potent exploration of both an anxiety that haunts many of us and a reality too many of our loved ones have gone through. Well done.

There's a familiarity to the classic blues progression that kind of tricks you into feeling comfortable, and then... well, that's some deep dark shizzle TC. The playing is bloody great. Really enjoyed it, despite the existential heaviness.

Brutal, bud. Forgetting is a tough row to hoe.

Mighty fine pickin though.

You've written a classic here. On point and finely crafted.
