Koko's Earth Control

Liner Notes

Once again, I'm doing improvised accompaniment for a silent short. This one is "Koko's Earth Control," a 1927 cartoon from Fleischer Studios. Caution: It has a lot of flashing strobe-like effects, and people who are sensitive to such things should approach it carefully or avoid it. It has to be the most apocalyptic cartoon of the silent era, providing opportunities for over-the-top dramatic music. I use the Roland EX50's split-keyboard feature to include tympani.

Enjoyed the musical theme you used and the synchronisation to the visuals was great.

Very nicely done! The brass grounds the increasingly surreal visuals nicely. Max Fleischer was a genius; his "Superman" cartoons are still breathtakingly good.

I enjoyed the last one i saw so i am back. Cleverly matched up again . i love the bit where it rises on "don't touch" very dramatic - very cleverly done - oo then it goes into actual film
