As The Memory Fades

Liner Notes
I was in the process of posting this yesterday, and giving it one last listen pre-uploading (I had done the song a couple of weeks ago) I realized that it was PITCHY AS HECK!! I was out of town with my brother at his XXth High School Reunion, so I wasn't where I could get back to the original tracks and "fix it"...so I spent a little time fixing the truly AWFUL vocals this morning now that I'm back. It's a little better. You're welcome!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the song!

In the stillness of our room,
where echoes fail to die,
I reach across the void
where once you used to lie.
The laughter that we shared,
now whispers in the dark,
AS THE MEMORY FADES,
like the flame from a spent spark.
CHORUS:
AS THE MEMORY FADES,
so goes the pain,
And the tears that once fell
like the summer rain.
But deep in the heart,
a shadow still stays,
Love’s not forgotten,
AS THE MEMORY FADES.
The pictures on the wall,
will start to lose their hue,
Their frozen smiles are fading,
just like my love for you.
Once so bright and so vivid,
now just shades of gray,
AS THE MEMORY FADES,
and we see we've lost our way.
CHORUS:
AS THE MEMORY FADES,
so goes the pain,
And the tears that once fell
like the summer rain.
But deep in the heart,
a shadow still stays,
Love’s not forgotten,
AS THE MEMORY FADES.
I whisper to the night,
where our voices used to dance,
Asking why love leaves,
when given half a chance.
Oh, but silence is the answer,
in the cold, cold light of day,
AS THE MEMORY FADES,
and we drift away.
SAXOPHONE SOLO
They say time is a healer
of the deepest cuts we bear,
Yet here I am still feeling
the ghost of how you cared.
But maybe by tomorrow,
the past will not invade,
As I learn to live,
with how the memory fades.
CHORUS:
AS THE MEMORY FADES,
so goes the pain,
And the tears that once fell
like the summer rain.
But deep in the heart,
a shadow still stays,
Love’s not forgotten,
AS THE MEMORY FADES.
