Liner Notes

A bit of #ikea #rock which I started after beginning a call to their customer service department to try and get a replacement part for a set of shelves (after I'd dropped a speaker cabinet on it). I picked up the #warrguitar again, fed it through my #eventideh90 and #chasebliss Mood 2 pedals and other than the drums (NI's "Abbey Road 80s Drummer") that's all there is on this.

The track was finished before the call ended, but at least it was successful: they're sending me a replacement part, gratis. #victory is mine!

I like the driving haunting feel and the uncertainty it conveys! Great driving beat and wonderful instrumental/ synth layers.

Some interesting intervals there, and I dig the bass line. What better than to make your own hold music? This is fun.

Very nice spacey atmosphere, particularly that ambient backdrop, which contrasts nicely with the heavy guitar. Great lead playing, of course, and I like the way the mood gets a bit more upbeat as the song unfolds. Sounds like an IKEA floating in outer space!

This has such a nice smooth sound yet it has lots of grit at the same time. Nice!

Oooh, love how this gets really angular around the 20 second mark and gets more ambient and spacey from there. The dark and dirty riff right around :55 is so good. This has a great build of tension and menace. Such a clever riff and commentary on hold music, ha -- I really love this!

Considering most hold music is over modulated & a 45 second or so loop, you’ve done the practical thing & written your own much better hold music. You had me at the Warr Guitar (I would still love to get my hands on one). Excellent work as always, Chris!

On hold music. I can imagine rolling my trolly down the grocery aisle and listening to this. Getting Sphaghettios and some fresh fish. I wouldn’t want to listen to this on a dark night driving in my car.
