Liner Notes

A late entry for the "Open" skirmish

I wrote it within the time, but the recording took a lot longer!

Instrument: PRS SE Santana
Backing (bass and drums) by Band in a Box
(Also Strings, but I fear they were lost in the mix.

Lyrics

(B) I went into (A) this with (G) open (A) eyes
I (B) knew your pro(A)nouncements were (G) probably (A) lies
(B) But time (A) flies when you're (G) having (A) fun
And as the (G) song says: it had only just be(B) gun

What you really thought was a closed door
You never revealed what you were striving for
You said one thing, but then you did another
You never really showed me you were truly bothered

It's an (E) open and shut (D) case
You just (A) vanished without (B) trace
You (E) had me on your (D) hook
Your (A) motives a closed (B) book
I had (E) laid my(D)self (A) open to (B) you
But you (G) closed the deal and watched it fall (B) through

INSTRUMENTAL & CHORUS

Now an open wound is all that is left
You closed up shop and left me bereft
I keep the door open, just in case
But I know you've slammed it in my face

"Open and shut case" is a strong line to start your chorus. It just rocks on from there. Good to hear a loud song. I know the skirmish time is tight. Not intended for production but I take as long as I need.

Finally got my lyric for "Open Up" put to music.

Only if you've got nothing better to do. ;)

This goes so hard -- particularly with the vocals, wow! The guitar solo is a REAL treat! My favorite word in the lyrics: bereft

i love hearing ou belt it out in a style heavier than the affable ukelele i have come to expect. this is a grand rocker, aggressive and vitriolic
