sometimes, loneliness

Liner Notes
I chose not to go to church with my spouse tonight and the song is written to him, but I think he understands my choice for solitude in a full house, whenever I can find it. Definitely a song for those of us who live in #introversion
Also I almost accomplished the goal of writing a song that doesn't much rhyme.
I decided to write a song in the hour and a half I ended up having to myself, in which I also ate and folded some laundry. The recording took a little longer.
The recording is a #girlwithpiano and also an attempt at an acoustic one-take, but I hadn't really learned the song by the time I recorded it. So I ended up with a separate vocal track. The vocals were challenging since the pianist was rather lazy - ah the art of improvising over the wrong chords! Ha.
But another song appears. And now back to the other stuff on the To Do list.
Lyrics
sometimes, loneliness
I watch the light
the way it comes through windows
the too-bright slivers on the floor, the wall
I hear the sound
the sounds of crickets chirping
the ringing in my ears
the music of the spheres in silence
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear
this precious time
I wonder how to spend it
friends and my to-do list on my mind
once in a while
I'll keep my own company
and let the stillness wrap me in its blanket
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear
I'll be back soon
I'll be back soon
I'll be back soon
I'll be back soon
sometimes, dear, I choose loneliness
sometimes, dear

Anyway, very neat wrong chord progressions! The build into the "sometimes..." sounds very nice. Those languid lyrics -- e.g. "too bright slivers" -- fit the mood to a T.
I would imagine many creatives are introverts (myself included). Lovely work.
