Lyrics

Intro: (Bb) (C) (Gm)

(Gm) "Where did I (Dm) go?" I'm (Gm) tempted to (Dm) ask
If I (Bb) look at my (C) photos from (Gm) many years past
But the (Bb) question is, (C) frankly, (Bb) simply ab(C)surd
'Cos (Gm) I'm still (Dm) here, though (Gm) change has occurred

(Bb) Nothing is (C) permanent
(Bb) Nothing re(C)mains
(Bb) Every moment is (C) different
It's (F) never the same
The (Bb) Earth has moved (C) on
And we're a(Bb)long for the (C) ride
We're (Gm) changing each (Dm) instant
It (Gm) can't be denied

(Gm) "Who am I (Dm) now?" is it le(Gm)git to in(Dm)quire?
Am I that (Bb) fifteen year old (C) lad who to (Gm) fame did aspire
Am I that (Bb) thirty year old (C) actor, is (Bb) anything left of (C) him?
(Gm) Memories of my (Dm) former selves are (Gm) getting rather dim

CHORUS

(Gm) None of the (Dm) cells of those (Gm) past lives sur(Dm)vive
So can I (Bb) ask if my (C) younger self is (Gm) really still alive?
The (Bb) answer I (C) think lies (Bb) in our conscious (C) mind
That (Gm) seems to keep its (Dm) essence (Gm) over our lifetimes

CHORUS

the only constant is change my friend! there is an ol bloke living with me, i glimpse him in the mirror sometimes very well said and done

Great work! I have a daughter who is transitioning gender identity right now and I have been thinking about change relating to myself and the changes my child is going through on her life journey. Change is scary but also freeing. You came up with a great way of expressing that. Thanks!

Great response on the prompt. Sucked me in on the first verse.

Good twist on the prompt. Well stated lifeline from a mature perspective. We just keep movin' on. Fine skirmish.

Very interesting lyrics and chord progression. Great timbre to your voice.. I always like your stuff. Well done

Great thoughtful lyrics and nicely performed. A great take on that skirmish topic

A strong narrative for a philosophical inquiry that looks at the nature of time. The melody reinforces the unsettling nature of some of the answers and implications.

Really good. It's so true. Nothing is permanent. Great lyric and vocal delivery with playing. Enjoyed hearing.
