Lyrics

Strange Universe

1. Where did I go
What did I see
When did it happen
to me

Ch: It’s kinda strange
Walking down the
same
Road
Same
House
Same
Universe
When everything has changed

2. Was it a no
Watch the knee
While it is buckling
Under me

Ch: Its kinda strange
Walking down the
same
Road
Same
House
Same
Universe
When everything has changed

B: I never thought
We would ever be
Standing apart
Playing the parts we do
But whoever thinks with their heart
Never trust lips who say they do
Cause their eyes would be lying too.

I like the Sci-Fi arrangement with the doubled vocals. The street noises are perfect for this. I like the tangential take on the prompt. It's the world that has changed here, rather than the narrator.

I sometimes get convinced that we are constantly changing universes (or else there are constant glitches in the Matrix).

I am pretty sure I was once on an Earth in which the Horse Chestnut tree didn't exist! My wife just tells me I am an unobservant bugger who would make a lousy spy. 😉

"Whoever thinks with their heart" is a heck of a great line.

love the chorus

That is a really compelling bridge. I really like the crisp concise line. The experimental feel with the sound makes it really strange, befitting the title.

It’s interesting what can happen at the midnight hour. However, the solid soul sounds of Marthie are shining through the weirdness. :-)

Fine production. There's a lot going on for a skirmish piece. Your lyric is compact and to the point. Great work.

This mood makes perfect sense to me, questioning reality because so many things, mostly undefinable, seem to have changed. The wispy story possibly pointing to a shock rejection is, when I listen, not much more than a backstory for the surreal present.
