Pennyfeather sent me this dreamy guitar track. So beautiful!
I didn't want to concentrate too much on the text and started with the background. Then the two lead voices...while recording I noticed how sad the piece sounds. Sad and dreamy, melancholic. and this text came to mind: a lullaby for the earth! And I wish I could put her to sleep so she could rest!

Pennyfeather: @mahtowin's gloomy "moon piano" and inimitable vocals really transformed the song into a dark and majestic lullaby. Love it!

even on ornings when i dont feel like hetting blasted with the headphones, there are a few artists who i have to put them on for. mahtowins vocals occupy so much space that it has to be compresssed into my head, i cant let it fly around the room unfettered. and pauls accompaniments are always so rich in texture and intelligence. you have got to listen to this through headphones , you will be transported into another world.

I played this through my laptop speakers--and it still sounds great. The guitar has a certain resonance that makes my table vibrate. I can feel the song in my arms as I type. There are so many threads woven together here: the vocal, the guitar, the haunting keyboard line. They add up to magic, as usual for you guys. The go to sleep lines resonate in my mind after the song is over

That pristine guitar sounds so sweet, and when the entrancing vocals come in and add their powerful touch, the song kind of soars.
The harmonic changes of the guitar and the unearthly piano notes... So beautiful!
