When I read the lyrics, I felt there was a certain sadness to them. I've tried to create music that reflects that view. This ain't no dance number! Luckily, I like moody music and hope you do, too.

The song is actually written in G major, but because it starts on a minor chord and depends on a handful of other minor chords, it probably sounds like it's in a minor key. To keep that feeling of musical instability, the verses don't resolve to the home chord.
