The music descends to the depths of loss and then we emerge in the light of hope. It's a big piece of work.

The moments of hesitation in the rhythm convey the theme of searching very well. Then there is a stronger sense of purpose in the melodies going into the middle through to the end. A nice journey!

Yes, "melancholy" is the word and somewhat wistful and fleeting, like a dream. Beautifully melodic especially 2/3's through the piece.
