Liner Notes

it’s about stuff

Lyrics

They were standing in a line
Waiting for their turn
But unbeknownst to them
The line was non-euclidean

Anytime you’d say “Me next”
You last, you last
Do you wanna guess?

We’ve been waiting here so long
Without the comfort of a song
Wondering “When will this all end?”
Maybe never, or two days at best

Anytime you’d say “Me next”
You last, you last
Do you wanna guess?

No we cannot take a break
We have’t even reached halfway
Judging the way that this is going
We might never get our say

Anytime you’d say “Me next”
You last, you last
Do you wanna guess?

They say you wanna form a straight line
If you wanna get there on time
If you wanna make it out alive

That’s a fun paradox on top of a familiar scene. Nice write!

Great take on the prompt with vivid relatable images and frustrations!

Cool song. I was hoping someone would go with a queue meaning of line, because it is something that is so fraught with the potential to mess up on social etiquette

Great observation lyric! Creative and flows well!

I had to look up what a non euclidean line was. Having done that... what a clever lyric. Great skirmish!

Ah, having lived in England for a while, I sympathise with this. Straight lined queues and don't your dare get a friend to hold your place!

It's more civilised in Catalunya. You enter the store, ask "Who's the last one in?" Someone will raise their hand and say "Me!" Then you are free to wander around the rest of the store until you see that person getting served. Then you just wait till they are served and simply go up to the counter and ask for what you want.

Very good lyrics, visual and strong. I hope to hear them.
