Okay, I needed to disgorge this one. I'll post it in this form so I can move on. Otherwise, I'll spent the rest of the day singing about fucking cheesecake while I try to come up with something I actually want to say. When I write a song, I generally start out scatting some nonsense that feels right in terms of vowels and rhythm. I then try to find some actual words that make sense, but that can be difficult. I regret the camera angle, but I managed to do it in one take and I'm sure as hell not going to do it again.

A live one - nice! As a lover of nonsense songs, I think you should leave the lyrics as is. With the rueful vocals and melancholy guitar, the emotion still comes through all the cheesecake references. And what's wrong with "fucking cheesecake"? It's as worthy of a song as anything else ...

hahaha well, some people REALLY like dairy, and this song is surely most especially for them! i did find it delightful. sometimes the words just want to be what they are and there's no fighting them.

This is tremendous fun. So much joy in the delivery! I have totally failed to not think about cheesecake, of course. If this is a meta song about singing, would that make what you are doing meta-singing? Rhyming "cheesecake" and "interstate" is a stroke of genius, however you look at it.

The "random syllables" approach is how Peter Gabriel writes his lyrics. As he explains before singing "Daddy Long Legs" on the "Back To Front" live CD, his wife tells him he sounds like he's drunk when he does this. (The song eventually gained proper lyrics and became "Playing For Time" on the i/o album).
