The Second Coming (Relentless Mix)

Liner Notes

Patch surfing on the Fantom again. This whole song was built because I found a whole 88 keys-worth of vocal samples (just one of the patches out of about 7,500), in particular the "Aaaaa-Iiiiiii" one that I have used here - press the key you get the 'A' and then the modwheel to get the 'I'. I decided that as the voice sounded quite sinister I would put some kind of 'relentless' beat together and see what else I could cram in - quite a lot as it happens!

Again, this is where the Fantom excels, letting me create various length loops really easily. However, Reaper then excels because it is much easier to record the loops into Reaper and then arrange them - I can arrange on the Fantom, but it is nowhere near as flexible.

ps. I called this the Relentless Mix, there is currently no other mix 😆

Used to make this track:
Reaper DAW
Fantom sounds: Wizard lead synth, drums, Ambiflute, Vocal Murmurs, Bass synth, Granular pad, Strings, AaaaaIiiiii, Violins, Choir

That "AI" vocal is quite disturbing. The "Ticketty tac tac" sample lightens the mood nicely, though. You're obviously having a tremendous amount of fun with the Fantom, and quite right too.

And I'm smiling at the liner notes because it was only after I'd had the M3 for more than a year I discovered there were a few James Brown samples buried away in one preset...

There are 7500 VOCAL samples alone on the Fantom? That's incredible. I have a bunch of samples I never use and recently got a $29 piece of software by MonkeyC called RANDO which "randomly" finds your samples and spreads them across your keyboard. Something you might be interested in... Great song!! ❤️

Yes that robo voice is ominous for sure. I'm really digging that flute sound. Relentlessly grooving along is more like it!
