Liner Notes

A long time ago, I studied Physics and Astronomy at university. Many years ago I was planning to teach Science, my chosen career. Well retired now, but I still like science. There was a skirmish not too long ago about Microscopic, but I didn't have the time to do it at the time. (Being at the hospital everyday with my husband) I also skidded around to the group who are writing songs with a twist on It's Hard To Start A Fire in the Rain @stephenwordsmith . So this song covers a lot of ground. What should I put in for Hashtags? #guitelele #science #educational

Lyrics

It’s an art to explain the arcane
(Verse 1)
I tried to tell my grandson about quantum mechanics,
He looked at me weird-like and answered something frantic.
So I took a deep breath, and I started to sing,
Hoping my words would clear up everything.

(Chorus)
It’s an art to explain the arcane in a simple refrain,
Like how the cats in boxes just might be insane,
And when I talk about atoms and their tiny domain,
You’ll see my brain's on a runaway train!

(Verse 2)
My hubby asked me 'bout the secrets of outer space,
I said, "Black holes ain't just a big empty place,"
He scratched his head a bit and looked pretty lost,
So I hummed a little tune, here goes, fingers crossed.

(Chorus)
It’s an art to explain the arcane in a simple refrain,
Like why stars explode and make cosmic champagne,
When I mention dark matter, it might seem quite plain,
But it's like trying to sing in a downpour of rain!

(Bridge)
Einstein, Newton, they had it right,
But explaining it’s like being out flying a kite,
In a hurricane, with no string in bloody sight,
So, I’ll do my best and keep it light!

(Chorus)
It’s an art to explain the arcane in a simple refrain,
Like the secrets of life in a microscopic grain,
And when I start on genetics, you might go insane,
But I’ll keep strumming my guitelele out in the rain!

(Outro)
So next time you ask why the sky is blue,
Or how we evolved from a primate zoo,
Just remember my song, and I’ll sing it for you,
Keeping science fun and easy, always cool and new.

Nice! I'm also tackling physics, and you're so right, it's a heck of task~ Good story and the guitalele panning backing forth gives it a suitable space wobble.

I like how you ease into melody and singing here -- I actually listened to the opening twice to hear how smoothly you did it! I love that @stephenwordsmith 's lyrics are leading us in all kinds of directions. Great science tune/lyrics!
