Liner Notes

#acousticrock #progressive
The prominent 7-note melody line in the chorus comes from the opening guitar motif in the Yes song “Release, Release.” I thought for a long time to find syllables of the right weight to fit the melody. Throughout the song I tried to choose words that would fit in a Yes song.

Lyrics

It must have come as a surprise
A wake up call
Synchronicity synchronize
The one in all

Shake off the rust
Rinse off the mud
Hop off the bus

From one moment to the next
You make the question new
From one mountain to the next
You get a different view

It all changes all the time
A shooting script
It happens when you blink your eyes
A scene was skipped

Shake off the rust
Rinse off the mud
Hop off the bus
Take at a look at us
The last in the line

From one moment to the next
You make the question new
From one mountain to the next
You get a different view

From one moment to the next
You make the question new
From one mountain to the next
You get a different view

As the crow flies
Resynchronize

It must have come as a surprise
A wake up call
Synchronicity synchronize
The one in all

From one moment to the next
You make the question new
From one mountain to the next
You get a different view

From one moment to the next
You make the question new
From one mountain to the next
You get a different view

From one moment to the next
You make the question new
From one mountain to the next
You get a different view

Really cool! I didn't know the original, and just took a listen. What a nice inspiration. I can see how you used the melodic element but and while it shares a spirit, it's definitely all your own. Nice work!

Very nice take on the prompt. A lovely song to listen to. Enjoyed your singing and playing.

Ambitious to take a Yes song as a starting point but I think you carry it off well . Synchronicity synchronize would definitely fit in a Yes song.

Sounds great! You didn't let us know what artist/song you were using. Sounds kind of like The Who to me - I'm probably totally wrong! I really like all of the different parts. Strong playing and singing.
