Liner Notes

Anyone who has followed me here will recognize that I usually borrow the words of good lyricists and make music to match. I never start with music and then invent the words.

This time is different. I had a chord sequence and melody for a verse and a chorus as a starting point. I asked Cindy Prince if she would create lyrics to go with my ditty. Cindy rose to the occasion and the result is this track.

Thanks, Cindy! You're an inspired champ!

Lyrics

My life changed the day I met you
You lit my world up that day
How on earth can I convince you
I always want to stay

I don't want to leave 'cause I love you
You mean the world to me
I hope you will understand
You bring joy to me

I don't remember before you
What was important to me
Looking back, my life was empty
Now I feel fully free

I don't want to leave 'cause I love you
You mean the world to me
I hope you will understand
You bring joy to me

I now dream about our future
I smile when I think of you
I hope that you will feel the same way
And our love will shine through

I don't want to leave 'cause I love you
You mean the world to me
I hope you will understand
You bring joy to me

What a charming song and delivery. Loving and warm. Beautiful lyrics, music, singing and playing. Sounds very natural and so wonderful to listen to. Thank you both very much.

A lovely campfire serenade, Paul, based on Cindy's always concise and pointed lyric. No mistaking the emotion, the celebration and the celebration of a loved one. Well done both of you. Hugs

You know I love your vocal treatments of whatever you're singing--but never more than when it's Cindy's lyrics. Great, great job, you two! ❤️

I really love the honest fragility of your voice Paul and how it blends so beautifully with Cindy's words and what a chorus. Love it :)

Cindy can write depth within simplicity which is a rare talent indeed and this just goes to show how affecting that can be with Paul's perfectly measured interpretation...
