Marion came over with a couple of lyrics to share. This was the first one.

Lyrics

It’s a feeling like love for the first time
Thinking about you, thinking about you
Like writing a song that already rhymes
Thinking about you, thinking about you

Dreaming about you for forever
Thinking about you, thinking about you
My friend, my muse, my lover
Thinking about you, thinking about you

I heard about you from the silver dollar man
He told me you’re something I could never understand
Then you overwhelmed me with your natural charm
Fell asleep in my arms

It’s a feeling like love for the first time
Thinking about you, thinking about you
Like writing a song that already rhymes
Thinking about you, thinking about you

Nice little song. Obviously the callout to writing a song that already rhymes is going to go over well with songwriters, sounds perfect, ha, or maybe that is what first love feels like. I was very intrigued with who this silver dollar man is, as I'm not familiar with the term, but I was also wondering if he was right and you will never understand or he was wrong and you understand completely, honestly I'm undecided and that's a good thing, but I think there might be a hint in there with how thinking and understanding work together.

Beautiful evocation of a relationship that's something special; "Like writing a song that already rhymes" is such a perfect way to express that. If you meet one person like that in your life, you're a lucky person.

That opening guitar strum and those dissonant chords along with the 6/8 timing really grabbed me . I like correlating love with songwriting - very cool. I like the melody a lot, and also the phrasing and flow. Nice use of repetition also. Wonderful collab and acoustic one-take!
