Challenge: Descending Chords

Liner Notes

#jazz #rhythm #blues #acoustic #instrumental #cooljazz #oddtimesignature

Dickin' around on my new Yamaha, decided to try a descending progression with a pedal tone on top (not *quite* a line cliché...). Also wanted to take the electronics for a test drive. Success on both fronts, I think!

Had to check out this after enjoying your Bitchin' Butt Rock Song. This is very different but also very high quality. Hope to hear you do more stuff on here!

I love odd time signatures, and went searching for them because of the forum topic about 7/8 time. Your Stray Cat Strut style bass line makes a great background for the high main melody. It has an improvisatory unhurried quality about it that’s really appealing!

i really enjoyed this. it’s cool how different this is from your other song. but equally as good! i like that kind of jazzy style. i can’t really play like that but after listening to this im wishing i could. good job dude

Very glad you liked my bossa nova song “27B”. I like this one as well. I love the way the guitar lead is somewhat dissonant with the chords. It really works very nicely. So you just bought this Yamaha? I bought mine in 1970. I’ve been using it ever since. They’re really great guitars.

I too feel the Djangoism. I was stepping the streets of some town in France wearing a flower dress in the 50s with a "boheme" boyfriend by my side. This was great!

I'd suggest keeping your new Yamaha. Keep the player, too! Really nice tune and well-played.

Thoroughly enjoyed this!

nice one! nicely Django-esque! I like the chords and lead line and you get a nice tone out of everything. recorded direct in, or mic, or blended/both?
