A little bit of childhood identity trauma along with a touch of historical science fiction. Basically a novel in 3 1/2 minutes.

Lyrics

Five or six months before I was born
Aliens resequenced my DNA
Historians say they were the Greys
They did a lot of damage in those days

Then when I was born and I was tested
All the tests were off the scale
The doctors did not know why
All they could do was send me home to die

They said
No toys
For the saucer boy
Alien hybrid clone
And when you die
Which could be any day
One garbage bag
Will hold everything that you own

All of us see the lights in the sky
But it’s a different thing to go on inside
It must have been a shock to my mother
In fifty years she never recovered

To this day my house sits half empty
No toys I only play guitar
It’s not that I’m a minimalist
I’m just not quite convinced I exist

They said
No toys
For the saucer boy
Alien hybrid clone
And when you die
Which could be any day
One garbage bag
Will hold everything that you own

No toys
For the saucer boy
Alien hybrid clone
And when you die
Which could be any day
One garbage bag
Will hold everything that you own

We are all going to die
And no one ever really knows when
I could live to be one hundred fifty-five
Each day surprised I’m alive

When someone thinks of me
And someone drops me a line
It means that the doctors were wrong
And there’s a chance that I might belong

They said
No toys
For the saucer boy
Alien hybrid clone
And when you die
Which could be any day
One garbage bag
Will hold everything that you own

You're making me have think deeper about those docu-series showing up on Tubi. Quite insightful. A great deal to ponder about life and such.

Ha - this is so much in my wheelhouse it's ridiculous. "It’s not that I’m a minimalist / I’m just not quite convinced I exist" Is absolute gold.
