Liner Notes

First song finished since FAWM - it's good to be back! Starting the summer off with a #firstfruits song.

Heavily inspired by the BEMA podcast:

Lyrics

Though there's not a drop of rain in sight
Through the drought, I'll think about your word every day and night
May I wait patiently
'Cause you're the life I need, oh
Lord, let me be an acacia tree

Lord, let me be an acacia tree
Rooted in you, rooted in you
There's nothing in this desert land that can worry me
When I'm rooted in you, rooted in you

Oh, when the wind blows, this I pray
Anchor my thoughts and, Lord, let me not be swept away
May my roots run deep
As you watch over me, oh
Lord, let me be an acacia tree

Lord, let me be an acacia tree
Rooted in you, rooted in you
There's nothing in this desert land that can worry me
When I'm rooted in you, rooted in you

May my delight always be in you
Your blessings abound, so let me be found to bear good fruit
Let me grow green leaves and
Flourish in my season, oh
Lord, let me be an acacia tree

Lord, let me be an acacia tree
Rooted in you, rooted in you
There's nothing in this desert land that can worry me
When I'm rooted in you, rooted in you

Lord, let me be an acacia tree
Rooted in you, rooted in you
There's nothing in this desert land that can worry me
When I'm rooted in you, rooted in you

When I'm rooted in you, rooted in you
When I'm rooted in you, rooted in you

@cola , glad I scrolled WAY back for this one. It was fun to re-read your "bio" again, too. I might be repeating myself but seeing your comment on your love for Japanese music and "Vocaloid", a couple of things: 1) I make it to Japan about once a year because my youngest son and his Japanese wife (and my Japanese grandson and another one on the way in November) live there; 2) I was a VERY earlier adopter of "Vocaloid", but have always been disappointed in the quality. In contrast, I'm VERY impressed with Dreamtonic's SYNTHESIZER V, and a comparable program I just learned about this last weekend called Ace Studio. You might want to check them out. Great song!

If church served up songs like this, I just might go. Your song has everything it needs - a bouncy beat, good lyrics and fine delivery. My only suggestion is to consider changing the title to "Rooted in You". It's the most repeated part and a genuine verbal hook.

What a lovely, clear voice you have! There’s something very clear and innocent about it, and it would serve a number of genres very well. The music has an engaging beat, and everything fits together so well. Nice work!

Great verse melody; the "oh" is a nice touch. I also like how the music comes down so the focus is on the vocals and words.
Excellent writing to get each verse to have the same rhythm/cadence, really got the praise/hymn feel.
The backing fits well with the lyrics.
Really well done praise song.

Nice tune, your vocals and melodies are great as always. I like the subtle ad libs at the end. The arrangement is also solid espeically with the pick up into the chorus. A good way to start things off!

well straight off into high gear! very up and at em! rally enjoyable listen, love that back piano.

a good old rousing gospel song. the repititions in the end would have the whole church singing along, but your multiple vocals create that effect without needing any help from the congregation.

That's a really nice extended metaphor. And a lovely firstfruits. Lovely melody line.

Got to say this is the first time I've ever heard anyone sing about an acacia tree. I like the sounds you're laying down. Words are awesome, your voice is outstanding, instrumentation yikes great job.
