This year I am pretty busy with a new job and a vicious training schedule for an ultra marathon so I suspect FAWM will be slim pickings - I've been working on a collection of songs under the banner "12 short nonsense songs about love" (I'm making a lot more than twelve for a variety of reasons yet/never to be revealed) so I think I will use FAWM to finish that project.

I didn’t write as much in 2020 but completed Fawm with 15 songs including one very fun collaboration.

glad you dig "Cheese Bridge Area"! that roomy reverb effect on the "Soda Lake" half was added in post - i had the main guitar part and the weird tonal "bass" panned hard left and right, and the mastering plugin that comes with Mixcraft (what I use to transfer tape recordings to digital) lets both make stuff less wide and add subtle or Very Unsubtle room reverb to stuff, so it felt fitting to amp it up gradually near the end. i did that on a FAWM thing already this year, but this was to a lesser extent than that and i think it came out sounding great.

Woops! Well, I'm glad you enjoyed my AI rocker, before having read my liner notes. I actually did that the other day on someone elses page for other reasons. Well, damn, it was great! As my Mother would say "Anyhoo"...thanks for the listen on Manifest Mountain. Now back to my yellow pad and my 4 track. :0)))

Cheers Rich! I can usually find an existing midi pattern that more or less serves my purposes (from one of the several hundred Superior Drummer midi packs I own), but with this one I did end up doing some pretty extensive tweaks, just because the rhythm is so specific and there's so many of those little pauses and breaks. Thanks for asking man :)

Thanks for the kind words about my string quartet piece. Yes, the reprise has a few variations to keep the momentum going into the end section. Repeating the opening exactly didn't sound quite right because it's a bit too stop/start.

Thanks a lot for your comment on "Aware". So happy you enjoyed it! May I ask you what instrument creates a harmonic tension? My ears can't find something... But yeah I agree that this song would be better with lyrics and vocals.
