Liner Notes

This started with one line from something I say to very dear friend every now and again. We have a lot of similar views, experiences and just... a lot of little, similar things in common. So periodically I'll say to her that we're like two pearls from the same shell. The line evolved and got used differently here than I intended, but I like it.

The idea of feeling gaslit about a relationship comes from an experience with my first college girlfriend but also l've had a surprising number of friends who have recently told me, like in just the past six months, a similar story. It's one where two people become extremely close only to have that friendship or relationship dissolve, obliterate for one reason or another... choosing an ex, moving out of state, infidelity, just a whim that’s over or whatever… you name it. I guess it's been on my mind so I went with it.

Production wise I’m surprised how much I like it. I did it all last night. Doing my recent exquisite corps helped a LOT in this regard because it really opened up the idea of just adding more stuff for the sake of adding it and not really having a plan. Thanks FAWM!!! Surprisingly that strategy worked well here I think. My voice though… ugh. I was getting frustrated and tired and there’s even a little sigh of frustration I forgot to edit out at the beginning. It could be better but I want to call it done for now.
