I liked the interesting lyrics of Mike's song, for instance the phrase 'No right time. No right, this time.' Also the nice chord changes and the sort of Spanish or latin feel.
So I wrote some stream-of-consciousness stuff based on some of Mike's phrases, worked out a chord change in the same key (Dm) but a simpler and a bit more bluesy. He had a bit of lead guitar underneath I believe so I added some of that.
