This was a song that came out of a challenge I saw on IG from a friend of mine. They call it a 'word ladder' and the deal is, choose two unrelated words to start with, and create five verbs that relate to one, and five nouns that relate to the other, then somehow connect them. I chose kids and airplanes, and wrote a verse, then wrote a second verse not trying to use the ladder, but I ended up switching them as it made more sense and ultimately rewriting leaving some of the original word ladder words out. Super fun I want to try this again. I did a Very Rough 'production' for this demo but no effects or mixing. Running out of month!! #wordladder #girlwithprotools #singersongwriter

Beautiful song. Interesting challenge that I may have to try. Lyrics seem to be a challenge and you hae done well here.

That sounds like a complicated challenge! Music was almost mystical. Loved the opening, especially the final line about the honeybee. The thing you can glimpse but not see also carries mystery. Very creatively done!

This is so cool! I love the combination of the synth, that lone high-hat, and your complimentary, sometimes-doubled, sometimes-harmonizing vocals. I particularly like the hummed accompaniment during the bridge.

That opening verse is a killer. "Give what you can to the world / Take everything you need" is so powerfully assertive.

The songwriting process with the word ladder sounds like quite a trip, and I'm quite sure I would end up with a word salad and not a cogent lyric like the one you've got here. Stellar job!
