Gulf de Gringo Loco

Liner Notes

#Felon #GulfofMexico - Every day brings a new inconceivable absurdity in Trump 2.0.

If this is Flamenco then I am a chicken taco.

Lyrics

F# G
There’s a gulf dividing people,
A A# A
I’m not sure of it’s name,
C B
It’s foolish to be divided,
A A# F#
When we are all the same,

Some call it America,
Some call it Southern Spain,
It’s doesn’t really matter,
G A B’
When you’ve got worms in your brain

B
It’s the gulf de gringo loco
F# E’
And we’ll never get across,
B’ B7’
Mi Casa’s not Tu Casa,
F#’ B’
When a felon is the boss.

Change the name on Google Maps,
That won’t change people’s hearts,
For history has funny way,
Of overturning carts.

You can write your name on everything,
As a dog does with his pee,
But time will leave you naked,
For all the world to see.

Mexicans and Canadians,
and Greenlanders as well,
Will soon unite together,
And send your deals to hell,

For hands across the borders,
Are stronger than the hate,
And hearts cannot be drawn on maps,
And money can’t change fate.

You see the situation much more clearly than the deluded Americans who voted for the felon! No matter where we are in the world, he gets way more attention than he deserves. So appropriate to think of him marking the world with his pee.

Olé! Love this song. Mi Casa’s not Tu Casa When a felon is the boss.
So true. And I love When you’ve got worms in your brain - that describes it perfectly.

"Mi Casa’s not Tu Casa" is perfect. As is the whole song. I love "history has funny way/ Of overturning carts." I appreciate the optimism in the last stanza . . .

This song may not play too well in the red states, but it sits in a happy place for me. Thank you for mentioning Canadians without saying 51st state.

Thanks @mikeskliar, that was quick! Happy to hear that you liked it, writing protest songs can seem like shouting into the storm sometimes. It is always encouraging when you find out that someone listened.

oh wow, this is totally brilliant, and I'm only sorry I didn't think of writing and singing this entire song first ! So many hilarious and on target lines, and some real wisdom here, too. Love the 'flamenco' music too, a perfect setting for this. '"you can write your name on everything as a dog does with his pee" is genius!

love it, (as you can tell!)
