Liner Notes

Well this came out a little surreal and weird. I'll let you be the judge if it's just nonsense or is there a point.

Instrumentation: electric guitar and bass, djembe, shaker, tambourine, chopsticks on desk, some samples of pots and pans being hit.

Lyrics

the fellow at the till
is a lobsters shell
hollow and eyeless
in an ill-fitting suit

he says there's nothing
he can do for me

a perforated mouth
on a metal wall
talks to me
tries to give advice

i guess there's nothing
they can do for me

voice of copper wire vibrations
oscillations of miniscule crystals

nothing is as it seems
smoke and mirrors trickery
i'm on to you

the local witch
has brooms for hands
she speaks in riddles
about aligning stars

i guess there's nothing
she can do for me

the wind is artificial turbines blowing
and planes are spraying rain
heatwaves are giant electric coils glowing
frost is a powder of fine grain

sprinkled on surfaces
by the lobster man

follow the beggars
where do they go when the day is done?
look at the alley cats
they got things figured out

rats in the structures
gnawing on cables
feeding on bile
rats in the structures
gnawing on cables
feeding on bile

the wind is artificial turbines blowing
and planes are spraying rain
heatwaves are giant electric coils glowing
frost is a powder of fine grain

sprinkled on surfaces
by the lobster man

What a title! That hooked me immediately before I even heard a note and that riff in the beginning sucks you in! Love the surreal lyrics. Very cool tune!!

What pictures you paint here against a fantastic musical background. There are a lot of sounds, but they mesh beautifully. The lyrics are super inventive. This is a winner!

when you get rock and roll like this, who cares if the words make sense, as long as they sound good. these lyrics give me portraits of some strange characters in unlikely scenes, but it plays out logically. its far from nonsense. reminds me bit of the movie cronenberg made of william burroughs' noel, naked lunch.

Look who's here bringing some new sounds for the next chapter of Red Dead Redemption. You bring such a cool vibe with this laid back guitars, the calm vocals and these abstract lyrics. I really love this. How can something sound so heavy without being metal?!

Yup it’s a great lyric I love it so many good lines! Delivery is so cool! All the ups n down make this a top song luv it!

Oh dear god, I absolutely love this. Genuinely. What a frickin' intro. And then you go all Led Zep on our arses with the vocal melody, except obviously about an octave down in that bloody beautiful burnished oak voice of yours. The words are weird but they're also very very cool. I mean, that initial description of the lobster man is properly, brilliantly insane. "A perforated mouth on a metal wall" is genius. And the sound is so HUGE man. Love that break in the middle, only for it to get even more epic in the second half. Plus you're playing chopsticks on a desk. Definitely my favourite FAWM25 song thus far.

Delightfully strange and irresistably swampy...this is a hell of a ride!!! Psychedelic roots music!! I'm here for it!!

Pretty heavy! Good old cis minor. "Voices of copper wire vibrations" was very well carried out.

This is right up my street - really enjoyed it... gave me All Them Witches / King Buffalo vibes. Top Fawming, cheslain! ;)

This comes out swinging with that intense instrumental opening! The words (and your delivery) have a nice surreal psychedelic swagger that add even more muscle to the heavy, bluesy instrumental track. It's all so cool!

Oh wow—INSTANT groove. And it gets bigger and shoutier and what a delight this is. The guitar tones are just delicious; that sustain at 3:00 is absolutely nuts. And I am totally here for the surreal and the weird.

This is a real ride - love the heaviness of the arrangement. The title drew me in and the impressionistic lyrics delivered - it's all held together by the mystery of what it is that you need!
